Challenge Accepted; The Great Assemble

Curt at Analogue Hobbies is running his Painting Challenge again this winter and I'm delighted to enter once more.

My target is to beat my score of last year, 519 points, just over one hundred 28mm miniatures. That's a fair amount for me to put out over three months.
With that in mind, I ransacked my hobby boxes. This is what I came up with:

It's amazing what you have stashed away...

I will hopefully get a few more bits around Christmas, including perhaps some miniatures from my Secret Santa. In the meantime, the Great Assemble is now on - I can hopefully get this lot built over the next fortnight!

  1. That is quite a stash, well im going to join you this year was pretty inspired by your progress last time Id like to get near your 500 mark but i suspect 300-400 is more likely.

    1. Ah, really bro? Surprised you'll have that much time, though you do paint quicker than me.

No Samurai I'm afraid, got rid of mine on eBay eventually. Will grab a single or pack somewhere.

    2. Yeah, time is a constraint but I'll try and use this to propel forward some projects, Gonna dig out the rest of my Greeks and Minoans to get them sorted, sort the least damaged of my anglo-danes and fill out the force so my Saga is done, I've some more naps to finish, christ knows what pulp, some Victorian stuff and WWW2 obviously.

Gimme a yell and we'll go halves on a pack of Samurai.

  2. Ohhh Shiny! Great looking stash you've got there and best of luck in the competition. Still shifting through the 'to do' box, but starting to get an idea of things to come.

  3. Good luck Phil - and wish me luck while you're at it. If I can get back to my previous levels of output I should be able to make somewhere between 500 and 1000 points over the course of the challenge. I really don't know how Kent and Ray managed to get so many points painted last year.

  6. That is a nice heap of toys you have there. I really enjoyed the Perry French Dragoons - they paint up very nicely. Ooh, and what is that you have from Artizan? I really like their sculpts...

Have fun with the preparations - often the planning is half the fun!

    1. That would be telling!

It is currently a motley collection, shall we say. I'm not sure I'll get through it all.

    2. So how many points exactly are you targeting for? 550 or just pip-in at 520?

    3. Well a challenge should stretch one, so I'll go with 550.
